TROY, MO | Richard K. Russell (Rick), age 56, of Troy, MO, died Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Union, MS. Private services will be _________________________ at Skelton Funeral Home in Reform, AL. Burial will follow in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will follow at the residence of Clara Russell in the Sapps Community.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard B. Russell, his grandparents, Hilary S. and Mannie B. Russell, and Belton and Linnie Kelley.
Survivors include his wife Debbie Russell; his daughters, Jamie of Union, MS and Amanda of Kirksville, MO; his son Robert of Cortland, IL; and his grandchildren, Mia Wells and Bryan Russell.
Rick was born on October 26, 1951 in Carrollton, AL to Clara Russell and the late Richard B. Russell. He retired from BNSF Railway in February 2007 after 37 years of service.
Rick was a loving and caring husband, father, son, and brother. He was also a friend with a big heart. He was loved by many and will be forever missed by all who knew him.
Pallbearers will be Robert Russell, Hilary Russell, Buddy Gilbert, Paul Sileo, Mike Russell, Patrick Russell, Jacob Russell, Glenn Drain, and Allen Russell.
Honorary pallbearers are the 1970 class of Carrollton High School and the employees of BNSF Railway.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Salvation Army, the Pilgrim Cemetery Fund, c/o _____________________________________, or the American Heart Association.
