While originally intended for the Surface RT, this little hack seems to work on all Windows 8 tablets. I tested it on my Samsung Ativ Smart PC with Windows 8 Pro and it seems to make an improvement as well. This registry tweak increases the polling setting for your touchscreen. So far there’s no real negative effects on battery life either.

How-To

1. Open up Search, type regedit, then tap the item when it appears.

2. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftTouchPrediction

3. Lower the “latency” and “sample time” entries from 8 to 2.

4. Exit the Registry, then restart the tablet.
