Last night Samsung held a press event for the official announcement of their new flagship Android phone, the Galaxy S4. Yesterday I posted some of the rumors around this phone, and most of them turned out to be true. The new phone will have a 5″ Full 1080 HD AMOLED screen with 441ppi, the processor will be either a octa-core Exynos or a Snapdragon 600 depending on region, 2GB of RAM, storage of 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB along with a microSD slot, a 13MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera, all powered by a 2,600 mAh removable battery. The phone itself is 7.99mm thin and weighs only 130 grams. It will launch this April in the US and be available on T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular and Cricket, and be available in white or black.
The phone with launch with the latest version of Android Jelly Bean, 4.2.2 and come with:
•Adapt display and adapt sound
•Air view / Air gesture (using an IR sensor)
•Group play
•Knox business / personal segregation software
•Optical reader (business card scanner)
•S health (think fitness tracking, built into your phone with accessories such as a wristband)
•S translate
•Smart pause / smart scroll
•Watchon (remote app)
•Temperature/humidity sensor
•Wireless charging (Qi standard)
