Microsoft has a few announcements today at the E3 2013 gaming conference, Microsoft has announced changes to its Xbox Live subscriptions, doing away with the Microsoft Points, and a new Xbox 360.
They’ve also just announced pricing and availability of the new Xbox One.
The new Xbox One will be released this November and will be available for $499.
New Xbox 360
Available today, Microsoft has released a redesign of its Xbox 360. The new design is slimmer than the current Xbox 360, but Microsoft promises it’ll still be quiet.
Goodbye Microsoft Points
Microsoft also has announced that it’ll be doing away with the Microsoft Points system for buying content on the Xbox. Instead, everything will be converted to your local currency. They announced this change would be in effect for the Xbox One, but didn’t specify whether it would affect the Xbox 360 or not.
Xbox Live Gold
With your Xbox Live Gold subscription, Microsoft has said that they will offer two free games every month. Among the first games available will be Halo 3 and Assassin’s Creed II. Details haven’t been released yet, so it is unknown how exactly this will work.
