Microsoft has made a big deal out of their new Internet Explorer 10 (IE10) browser in their upcoming Windows 8 operating system. With the launch of Windows 8 right around the corner, today, Microsoft announced the availability of IE10 for Windows 7 users. They will release a preview edition next month, in November.

As we approach general availability of Windows 8, we want to provide an update on IE10 for Windows 7. We will release a preview of IE10 on Windows 7 in mid-November, with final availability to follow as we collect developer and customer feedback.

With other alternatives, such as Google Chrome, and Mozilla’s Firefox, IE10 needs to bring some new features to the table to keep up with the competition.
