Google’s Office-like web apps used to be Documents, Spreadsheets, and Presentations, but alas, no more! Say hello to Docs, Sheets and Slides. Today, Google has changed the name of their Google Drive apps and has also released them in the Chrome Web Store as standalone apps that will appear in your new tabs in Google Chrome after installation. The new apps are also coming to Google’s Chromebooks in a few weeks.

Google has also released apps for Drawings, Forms, Google Apps Script and Fusion Tables.

With Microsoft’s new found focus on the cloud with Office 365 and the new Office 2013, Google is looking to spice up the competition, especially since Microsoft’s newest Office 2013 web apps went live on SkyDrive yesterday!
