Recently I was trying to install an additional Microsoft Office application, which was a 64-bit version of Microsoft Project. I had the Microsoft Office 365 click-to-run 64-bit version installed, but apparently it also installed the 32-bit version of the “Office 15 Click-To-Run Extensibility Component”. When trying to install Microsoft Project, I got the error: Please uninstall all 32-bit Office programs – Office 16 Click-to-Run Extensibility Component.
To resolve this issue, try the following steps:
– Go to Start > Run (or Winkey + R)
– Type “installer” (that opens the %windir%installer folder), make sure all files are visible in Windows (Folder Settings)
– Add the column “Subject” (and make it at least 400 pixels wide) – Right click on the column headers, click More, then find Subject
– Sort on the Subject column and scroll down until you locate the name mentioned in your error screen (“Office 15 Click-to-Run Extensibility Component”)
– Right click the MSI and choose uninstall
Then try your installation again.
Office 16 Click-to-Run Uitbreidbaarheid Component verwijdert. Maar ik kan nog niet 64bit App installeren. foutmelding blijft…
thank you!
Thank you so much! ;_; …. ;u;

Fantastic Guide
Spot on, thank you very much.
Thats it…. solved…. Thanks guy.
Thanks you a lotttt , It works
I don’t get it. In the end, you say find and remove “Office 15…”. Office 15!? I only have Office 16!! And four different versions of the same, using your method to find it/them. Did you mistype 15 for 16 in your guide? And if so, shall I remove all of the “16” packets?
Perfect post. Thank you
This is has worked for me better than the regedit method. Awesome guide!
Thanks a lot…you are best…
This worked like a charm! Thank you for providing this information for free.
I did not have an “installer” folder under C:\Windows (Windows 10 64bit) but this solved the problem for me:
MsiExec.exe /X{90160000-00DD-0000-1000-0000000FF1CE}
If you can’t find the folder “installer”, you simply have to type it in. It won’t show if you search for it or by browsing the folder listing in Windows 10. In other words, you need to manually type c:\windows\installer in the address bar assuming that Windows is installed in the c:\windows folder. If this is not where your Windows is installed, please adjust accordingly and append the \installer at the end of the path. The search feature won’t find it even after I made hidden and system files and folders visible. After you finally open the installer folder and you see its contents, you can continue to follow the steps listed above to add the Subject column.
I found the MSI I was looking for under the name 32d8a84b.msi which is the 32-bit version of the Office 16 Click-to-Run Extensibility Component. The 64-bit version of it is named 32d8a859.msi.
By the way, in order to uninstall the MSI, you need to right-click on it, and select Uninstall. If you simply double-click on the MSI, it will not run.
Brilliant !! Thanks a lot
Skype for Business Basic installation conflicting with installed Office 2016 Pro
I had issues with this component, when I tried to install Skype for Business Basic from the default download location (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49440).
The advice first seemed promising and I uninstalled the component. Then I wanted to confirm, that Office (2016, 32bit) is still working. It did, but took some time starting up. Unfortunately, it reinstalled the component and installing Skype for business basic installer still complained.
I managed to get it running finally with the SkypeForBusinessInstaller (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3139711/how-to-install-the-skype-for-business-basic-stand-alone-client), which manages to install it without hassles.
AWESOME!
Instead of “desisntalling” I made a mistake and I clicked on “Remove”. Is there any way to desinstall it without the .msi archive?

what if the error doesn’t show a specific program that is causing the conflict? I originally had the same office 16 click to run extensibility component but I was able to remove it with the method listed here but not I still get the cant install 32 bit version error but nothing is listed as conflict any ideas?
