facebook_reservations-2Today, Facebook has released an update for its iOS and Android mobile apps, bringing a few new features to the app. For iOS, they now allow for the searching of hashtags and the update will also allow you to click on hashtags within posts to see what other people are saying about the topic. It also offers faster loading and a cleaner design for timelines on the iPad.

On a bigger note, you can now make restaurant reservations at over 20,000 places in North America, right from their Facebook page! Facebook has partnered with the service OpenTable, and the reservation process is said to work completely within the Facebook app and won’t require a separate OpenTable account.

Another new feature is if you browse to the page of one of your favorite primetime television shows or movies, it will now show air times, channel information, and show description.

Jump on over to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store for the app update now.
