Apple Announces iOS7 1“The biggest change to iOS since the induction of the iPhone” is what Apple is calling iOS7. It’ll feature a clean, fresh look with new fonts, new icons and new translucent bars.

Since iOS7 is almost all about a redesign, I’ll have to supply some pictures, right?

New Photos App w/ Filters


Control Center on iOS7

Quick access to common settings including airplay mode, wifi, bluetooth, and Do Not Disturb. Additionally, Control Center includes a slider to adjust brightness, as well as media controls, Airplay, and recently used apps. To access Control Center, you simply slide up from the bottom of the screen, similar to Notification Center.

iTunes Radio

The service will be free for U.S. users, and will use both text and audio ads to support the free streaming. Apple will also be using it to funnel purchases to the iTunes store via buy buttons that appear on songs so that a user can instantly purchase tracks that they enjoy but don’t yet own. Track skipping is supported. If you subscribe to the iTunes Match service, then iTunes Radio will also be ad-free.

Notification Sync With Other Apple Devices


App Store Updates

The Apple App Store will now offer automatic updates to the apps you have installed. They’ve also introduced a new location-based option, which will show you local apps based on your location. Another feature is a Kids category, sortable by age.

Release Date

iOS7 is available in beta form today for developers and will be officially released later this fall. It will be available on the iPhone 4 and newer, as well as the iPad 2 and newer.
