Adobe Photoshop Mac Error Could Not Complete Your Request Because Of A Program Error Fix

Share This:

thIf you use Adobe Photoshop on a Mac with OS X (appears to be Yosemite or newer), you may have run into the error “Could not complete your request because of a program error”. Unfortunately, this error isn’t very descriptive about the actual issue. After browsing a few sites about this error, it appears to be related to file permissions. If you don’t mind setting up a new user, one easy fix is to create a new admin user and use that account for Photoshop.

Possible Fix

– Using the Finder app, Hold down the Alt (Option) key when using the Go menu. The user library folder is listed below the current user’s home directory.

Note: After you open the Library folder, you can drag the Library icon from the top of that window to the Dock, Side Bar, or toolbar. That way, it’s readily accessible.

– You’ll want to find the folder: /Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Adobe
– Unlock the folder
– Apply Read Only to this and all inside folders for ‘staff’ and ‘everyone’
– Apply Read & Write for your username
